Get Organized
With your style now clearly defined, it is time to take a look at your existing wardrobe through a new lens and to do that you need to first take inventory. The best way to do this is to sort through your closet piece by piece and roll up your sleeves and get started.
Why is this step important? If you only have 5 minutes in the morning to get dressed and you look in your closet and nothing is working for you- does this sound familiar? Starting off your day on a negative or wearing the same outfit over and over doesn’t make you feel great- but it is what you are used to. Once you have sorted through your closet- your stressful morning is replaced with more outfits and offers you more visibility. It is hard to see all the options in your closet when they are so tightly fit in your closet next to items that no longer fit you or are no longer your style.
You will find items you forgot you have, and all your clothes will be easily accessible in one place. This will also help you to figure out what you are missing and areas that you need to focus on when you are shopping.
Take pics of the pieces and outfits you want to wear together. These can be saved for later inspiration when you are in a rush or lacking ideas. This can also make it easier to show your stylist to help them to see what items you love- how you like to wear them together- and what items you are still looking for.
